:: Sunday, September 14, 2003 :: And then, there is the culture of fear. I believe Michael Moore very nicely presents this in Bowling for Columbine. Since 9/11 Our government has does such a profiecient job of maintaining this sense of fear, impending attack, and national paranoia that Bush's advisors must be astute students of Hitler and Goering. As Goering said "Naturally the common people don't want war but after all it is the leaders of a country who determine policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it is a democracy, or a facist dictatorship... voice or no voice... all you have to do is to tell them that they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. it works the same in every country"
