- 14. When can I give my baby regular whole milk? - Top
- On the one hand, once your baby is tolerating a cow's milk formula, there is no reason why a sip of whole milk would be harmful.
On the other hand, regular milk is NOT and acceptable source of primary nutrition for an infant under one year of age. It lacks vitamins and has the wrong amount of fats and proteins.
From age One Year to Two Years, most pediatricians recommend whole milk unless there is a family history of severe Cholesterol problems at an early age. After age two, you can use whatever type of milk the family uses- 2%, skim, etc. - Updated: March 5, 2001
