    31. Is the chlorinated water in pools safe for infants? - Top

Q: Is the chlorinated water in pools safe for infants?

A: Chlorine in normal concentrations in pools is not dangerous to infants. If you do not smell a strong chlorine odor and it does not sting your skin, it is safe for your baby. As with older children or adults chlorine can, after extensive exposure, irritate the eyes, but with infants this should not be a problem because they should be head up most of the time to avoid excessive pool water swallowing.
