Questions about types of antibiotics, when to use them, and side-effects of using them.

    12. Zithromax - Top

Zithromax is a commonly prescribed antibiotic for infections of the ears, skin, throat, and chest.

People that are allergic to Bactroban, Biaxin, or Erythromycin have a good chance of being allergic to Zithromax as well.

The most common side effects of Zithromax are skin rash and stomach cramps. If your child experiences cramps with Zithromax, try to work through it- cut out juices, and avoid fatty foods, and give it a chance.

Zithromax, like any antibiotic, can take up to 3 days to work- please be patient unless your child is getting worse or new symptoms. - Updated: March 9, 2001
