- 25. Amoxicillin - Top
- Amoxicillin is probably the most commonly prescribed antibiotic in america. It has a wide range of uses including infections of the ears, nose, throat, chest, and urinary tract.
Do not take amoxicillin if you are allergic to Penicillin or Augmentin.
The dose of amoxicillin that is prescribed for common infections varies. For ear infections, very high doses are often used.
The most common side effects of amoxicillin are skin rash and diarrhea. If your child experiences diarrhea with amoxicillin, try to work through it- cut out juices, and avoid fatty foods.
