    10. My new baby has red marks on the back of her head - Top

Q: My new baby has red marks on the back of her head; should I be concerned?

A: These marks are usually benign birth marks that are very common and often disappear as the baby gets older. Common names for these are "stork bites" (though a mother who has recently had a baby knows the stork had nothing to do with it) or Angel kisses. On your next check-up, point these marks out to your physician to make certain that nothing else is going on.
