    6. What can I do about the skin on my baby's neck becooming red and irritated? - Top

This irritation is often the result of drool in the skin folds, plus the growth of some yeast/fungus. The ultimate solution is to stop drooling, but try telling that to a teething baby.

The best thing that I have found is the Nystatin Powder, sprinkled on three or more times a day like baby powder. This is a prescription medication, and your doctor would need to prescribe it.

You could try any brand of 1% clotrimazole cream such as lotrimin, mycelex, etc 3 times a day, but I think the powder is nice because it gives more drying action.

As with any rash, it is difficult to make an accurate diagnosis without actually seeing it. If it does not get better with simple measures aimed at drying and curing yeast/fungus, your doctor needs to take a look.
