    2. green stools in a Six week old - Top

Question: My six week old is having green stools, not all the time but frequently and they are almost water like. Is this normal ? She is on Carnation Good start formula and is eating okay and thriving. Should I be concerned that something is wrong?

Answer: Stool color means very little. As long as the baby is thriving and gaining weight, and the stools are not black and tarry (a sign of bleeding in the gut) or pale/white (a sign of liver problems), I know of no significance to stool color whether it be lime green, fluorescent yellow, orange, or brown.
