    26. How soon can I take my baby out in public? - Top

I would avoid contact with a lot of people in crowded spaces as much as possible in the first two months. If your baby comes in contact with a cold virus and runs a fever under two months of age, we will get very concerned and possibly have to run a lot of tests, even though it may turn out to be just a 'cold' in the end.

Church and other places with lots of people and little air circulation can increase your baby's risk of infection. Likewise, avoid contact with small children with cold symptoms. Don't be afraid to ask people to WASH their hands before holding your baby.

Avoid places where there is second hand smoke.

Feel free to take your baby outside, weather permitting, as much as you like after she is a few days old.
