2. What will happen if Smallpox is released? - Top

As soon as a single case of Smallpox is detected, a global emergency would exist. The immediate area and possibly the local city would be quarantined.

The government would immediately start vaccinating the entire exposed area, possibly the whole city. Surveillance would be set up to start watching for new cases in the next 1-3 weeks. - Updated: October 22, 2001
