    14. My baby's head is flatter on one side - Top

    This can be a normal condition called Positional Plagiocephaly. Now that babies are sleeping more on their backs we are seeing more flattening on one side of the back of the head or the other. This should be discussed with your baby's doctor. If the head is growing well, it may be a simple matter of encouraging your baby to look and lie in the other direction. For more severe cases, hard plastic helmets or "cranial bands" can be fitted to encourage rolling and thus rounding of the head. - Updated: June 4, 2010
