    7. Can my child get fever blisters in her mouth, due to high fever? - Top

No, but she can get high fever from blisters in her mouth!

Stomatitis is a common infection in young children caused by a virus. They get many blisters in their mouth which are painful and last about a week. There is no specific treatment needed in most cases.

Some people get "cold sores" on their lips. These are usually caused by the Herpes Simplex (type I) virus, and can come back over and over during periods of stress, or during a fever.
