- 2. My one year old has a yellow skin color - Top
- Q: I have a one year old baby. I noticed that my baby hands and feets are turning yellow. Also my baby doctor's noticed.
A: There are two reasons that a toddler might start to turn yellow in color. The first reason is from eating a lot of yellow and orange vegetables such as sweet potato, squash, and carrots. The color improves by eliminating those foods from the diet for a while. These children should NOT have any yellow eye coloring.
The other reason would be true Jaundice, which can be seen with some infections such as Hepatitis and Mono, or with liver diseases. Any child with Jaundice needs to be seen by their doctor immediately. - Updated: September 25, 2002
