    20. How can I make my child's entry to Kindergarten pleasant? - Top

Children who enter school with no previous experience at being in settings away from their family may be very anxious and have some problems with self-reliance. So the best thing is for children to experience short periods away from the family to establish in their mind that their parents will come back and they (the children) can survive on their own away from their parents.

Parents should also talk about school as a fun and exciting place to learn and meet new people. If possible, meet you child's teacher with them. If there is an older sibling attending the same school, use them as a support system for the younger child. Greet your child when they arrive home and inquire about their day. Also make an adventure out of going shopping with your child for school supplies and clothes.
