- 10. My child has a disability. What services are available? - Top
- Q: I just moved to the area and I have a child with a disability. How can I find out what services are available to our family?
A: First, I would recommend that you establish a medical home for your child; preferably with a physician used to working with children with disabilities. Next, I would suggest you contact Western Carolina Parents of Exceptional Children (WCPEC) P.O. Box 1706, Fletcher, N.C. 28732. This is a family support group in the area and a great resource for assisting families in knowing what is or is not available. You can also contact the Family Support Network by telephoning 1-800-852-0042 to get a listing of resources in the area. - Updated: March 23, 2001
