- 8. My daughter gets frustrated learning and gives up - Top
- Q: My daughter has difficulty learning new skills and gives up very easily; what can I do to help her?
A: Some children have self-esteem Andover fear of failure problems and they tend to shy away or not try new things. You can assist your daughter by following some simple steps with new skills. First get her attention and demonstrate any new skill in a stepwise fashion. Then, let her try the new skill one step at a time (sometimes the whole picture is overwhelming, while one step at a time can be managed). Finally, and most important, give feedback along the way with emphasis on the positive and minimize commenting on her failures.
