- 1. 15 month old bites his hands - Top
- Q: What are the reasons and suggestions for a 15 month old that will bite their hand or wrist until it makes them cry?
A: toddlers may bite themselves for a number of reasons. The most common reason would be teething. If that appears to be the case, treat with Tylenol or Advil as needed and try to offer the child something else to keep his hands and teeth busy.
Biting oneself may be a form of self-stimulation, and could also be seen in children who are emotionally deprived or those with Autism. - Updated: June 26, 2001
