We Test for hemoglobin using the Hemocue hemoglobinometer. In this method, a small drop of blood is held in a thin layer in a plastic cuvette. In the device, a special light shines through the blood and the amount of light absorbed is measured at two wavelengths. The resulting levels are used to compute the hemoglobin level. |
